If you're looking for an easy way to meet like-minded people and learn some new stitching tricks, our Stitching Social events are for you! Our wonderful hosts create a fun and friendly environment for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy all things cross stitch.
Our biggest achievement is the wonderful cross stitch community we have built over the years! These events feel like a celebration of that - the socials are a really positive environment, perfect for those just starting out in their stitching journey and a fantastic way for more advanced stitchers to meet fellow cross stitchers and make new friends.
Carla, a mum of 3, is based in Kent and has been cross stitching on and off since the age of 18. Outside of cross stitch, Carla loves spending time with her 4 guinea pigs - Cookie, Nibbler, Bumble and Brie.
Carla's favourite designs are the seasons tree series and Christmas Wonderland. Our scissors and needle minders are must-haves in Carla's crafting stash and she finds the project bags perfect for all of her essentials!
Stitching socials bring our wonderful stitching community together from all around the globe - Carla enjoys putting a face to the name and getting to know all our members, whilst still learning new cross stitch tips every day.
Our next host, Nicky is a member of the 50 and fabulous club! Her hobbies include stitching, sewing, crime podcasts and exploring nature at its finest. Nicky completed a three-week trek around the Annapurna Circuit (going higher than Everest Base Camp!)
Originally from a small town at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, Nicky currently lives in York. As an Army wife, Nicky has lived in 3 different countries!
Nicky first started stitching at primary school and started again after getting married and her husband being deployed. Nicky has bravely shared her struggle with bowel disease, in which, she was given life-changing surgery leaving her with a permanent ileostomy.
Nicky dedicates her love of cross stitching to her mum (she was also a huge stitcher). They used to share regular updates on the latest projects and admire her impressive cross stitch card collection!
Cross stitching became a hobby that provided comfort, distraction and support during Nicky's hospital stays. It's helped during her path to recovery.
Annie was born and bred in Edinburgh and she works as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant in a school for children of all ages who have very complex needs. She says "it's the best job in the world!"
Annie is a big fan of Strictly Come Dancing, and helps teach ballroom and Latin classes each week. Jive is her joy on the dance floor!
When relaxing at home, Annie cross stitches and particularly loves our needle minders! Before Annie begins cross stitching, she uses the Complete Cross Stitch Planner to organise all of her supplies. Annie loves this process because it helps her focus.
Annie always ends a Stitching Social event with a big smile on her face. She says, "it's such a pleasure to meet people from all over the country, who enjoy cross stitch as much as I do!"
Each event is hosted by a cross stitch expert, online via Zoom. There's a maximum of 15 people in each group and it lasts for a total of 2 hours - allowing plenty of time for everyone to ask their host any burning questions.
This is a lovely way to spend time stitching with others and show off your hard work to people who appreciate the time and effort that has been poured into each piece. Your dedicated host will share the basics of cross stitching, offer their top stitching tips and tricks, host a fun, on-theme quiz and prize.
You'll also receive a beautiful stork scissor-themed needle minder. If you have previously attended a social and already have one, we'll happily allow you to choose any other Caterpillar Cross Stitch needle minder instead - simply remember to leave us a cart note letting us know which one you'd like!
We organise multiple Stitching Social events each year, each with a specific theme and brand new cross stitch kit. The new cross stitch project design for February's events is 'Wandering Peaks'.
These socials are fantastic value for money. For just £42.90 you'll receive access to the 2 hour event, a full beginner-friendly cross stitch kit, a needle minder, a sweet treat and a 20% off exclusive discount code.
Previous themes include the adorable Cosy Corner Bookshop and the magical Jingle Bell Toy Shop.
The kits contain everything you need to create a beautiful work of art - a colour professionally printed pattern, easy-to-follow instructions, Zweigart fabric, a DMC needle, and pre-sorted DMC threads.
We ship worldwide, so you can join in from anywhere across the globe! To take part you just need a computer and a stable Internet connection.
Once you attend a Stitching Social, you'll find yourself more relaxed and with a group of new crafty friends. You can ask your host any questions and continue the conversation in our Facebook group. Get inspiration and make stitching fun!
Our friendly hosts for the February 'Wandering Peaks' events are Sally, Carla, Nicky, Mandi, Charlie, Sue and Annie.

Crafting isn’t just about making something beautiful (although that certainly is a huge advantage!), it’s also about finding something that makes you happy, calms your mind and brings you a sense of enjoyment and accomplishment.
For neurodiverse people, crafts can offer amazing benefits, from improved focus and confidence to reduced stress and anxiety.
