THE CATERPILLAR CROSS STITCH MISSION

"To help others find joy by creating a welcoming and inclusive community and sharing beautifully designed cross stitch products. We have a modern approach and always strive to make a positive impact in the world."

Do you want to learn how to cross stitch? Do you want to find new and modern cross stitch kit designs you haven't seen before? Are you looking to connect with other stitchers, learn new skills and make friends with a Stitch-a-Long? Then you're in the right place!

You might have been cross stitching since you were little, having learnt at school or from a family member. Maybe you're more into knitting / crochet / quilting but have always wondered if you'd love cross stitch too. Or perhaps, you're already addicted to this simply awesome craft but would like some more modern, unique designs you won't find elsewhere!

I love creating bright, modern cross stitch kits because I can see first hand how it enables people to awaken their creativity, relax and have some peaceful 'me time'. Stitching brings people together, gives our minds something positive to concentrate on, helps alleviate stress, keeps hands busy, decorates walls and makes an amazing personal gift.

Spending time away from screens and practising 'yoga for the mind' can work wonders and actually watching artwork develop before your eyes as you stitch is so satisfying and rewarding.

SALLY - Creative Director and Founder

Hello! I'm Sally and I was raised in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. I'm a mum of 2 little ones and my passion is teaching others how to cross stitch and watching this simple craft change lives.

I'm currently obsessed with TikTok, swimming and old Grey's Anatomy episodes. I've lived all over the place from Manchester, Vancouver, Sydney, Leeds and we finally settled in Warwickshire from 2012 onwards, 2 weeks after getting married in Sheffield (where both me and my husband studied at university a long time ago!)

Following a fascination with Ally McBeal back in the late 90s, I followed my brain (not heart) into a legal career. In 2013 I was spending my time working 9-5 at a desk in a busy office as a lawyer. But when I went on maternity leave, I decided to leave law behind and concentrate on designing bright, modern cross stitch kits that people would be proud to stitch! I launched Caterpillar Cross Stitch in November 2015 and I'm so excited about growing this community and helping others discover cross stitch for themselves.

My favourite food is Thai, I've only ever had one pet (a Bichon Frise called Fudge) and I'm on a mission to convince my husband to get another one. I've had a go at playing most instruments over the years (the only ones I ever stuck with were the piano and flute).

I've been thrilled to have received awards and been shortlisted over the years in the British Craft Awards, Woman Who Achieves, Natwest Every Woman, Best of Craft and Craft Business Awards.

TIM - Operations Director

Tim joined the company in 2022 and loves rugby, ultimate frisbee and a good curry! He has completed numerous 10K and half marathons and will be running in the Manchester Marathon 2023. He likes the adrenaline rush of sky dives and taking on new adventures.

GO ON THEN, TELL ME MORE

Colourful, bright, fun cross stitch kits. If you're a beginner, you might want to start out using 14 count aida and if you're more experienced, evenweave. So, we offer a variety of fabrics to suit you, clear colour patterns, full step by step instructions and the best quality materials we could find!

Who's got time to faff around? Not me! All of the kits come with pre-cut and pre-sorted threads already on a 'Carlos the Caterpillar' thick card thread holder. All you have to do is make a cup of tea and find a comfy seat and you're away!

If you're thinking, 'But Sally, what if I don't know how to get started, get stuck halfway through or make a mistake? I've never done it before and I'm not even sure what cross stitch (or a stitch-a-long) is!' Fear not, because I make it my mission to provide top notch customer service.

There are helpful blog posts, YouTube videos and I am on hand by email or in the dedicated Facebook group to answer your questions and hold your hand.
Here's to our happy stitching and your new favourite hobby!
