Keep your children busy this summer with our free, online Cross Stitch Summer Camp!
Cross stitch is more than just heaps of fun, it also has so many wonderful health benefits! It's been proven that any kind of creative outlet is fantastic for well-being, and crafting helps us focus and wind down after a busy day. Cross stitch is often referred to as 'yoga for the mind'.
These incredible benefits of course apply to children and young people as well! Being able to thread a needle is a useful life skill that they will carry with them throughout life. They may even go on to take an interest in other needlecrafts such as crochet, sewing or embroidery.
Counted cross stitch involves maths skills, picking colours, resilience, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and it's also a distraction from devices. Your little one will feel a huge sense of accomplishment watching a pattern come to life on their piece of fabric!
We'd love to inspire the next generation of crafters! To get the ball rolling we're hosting a free, online cross stitch summer camp aimed at young people aged 7-13 years old.
The camp is completely free to attend and will be hosted by Sally Wilson (expert cross stitcher and Creative Director of Caterpillar Cross Stitch!) via Zoom.
The children will learn the basics of cross stitch, take away some top tips, start a fun new project that will keep them busy for the remainder of the holidays, and most importantly, have a lot of fun!
The event will last for 1 hour, allowing plenty of time for detailed, easy-to-follow instructions and of course, the chance to ask any questions.
There's no better way to introduce your children to cross stitch. If you're a cross stitcher too, you could spend your afternoons together stitching and bonding over this joyful craft!
The class is free and there's no obligation to purchase anything. However, to make things simple, we've designed a fun, colourful Sophia the Sloth junior stitch kit as an optional add-on! The full kit contains all of the high-quality supplies needed (a colour printed pattern, fabric, organised threads and a chunky metal needle) so that your children can easily join in with the fun.
Sophia the Sloth is also available as a PDF pattern only, meaning you can purchase the chart digitally and simply nip to your local craft store to source the supplies. Easy-peasy!
The camp will take place via Zoom, so it's easy to join in from anywhere in the world. We have hosted hundreds of online classes over the years and pride ourselves on outstanding service.
You just need a computer and a stable Internet connection to participate!
We have a selection of other junior stitch kits available, including Sparkle the Unicorn, Splash Mermaid, Ahoy Pirate, Princess Wish, Edith the Elephant, and Barney the Brachiosaurus! All of these kits are also perfect to stitch on the day.
Secure your spot in this one-off event by signing up! The link to the event will be sent to the e-mail address you sign-up with. If you need any assistance, our friendly team is available Monday to Friday 9 - 4pm (London time).
We're so excited about this event! Don't miss out on this unique opportunity, tap here and sign-up for this free summer camp today.
